Wānaka (aka Queenstown’s little sister) is one of my favorite spots on the South Island. This laid-back mountain town is known for its epic hikes, crystal-clear lake views, and seriously good food and coffee. It’s a perfect road trip stop, and I always recommend staying at least a night or two.
